Wear it purple day on Friday to raise money for Stacey Mowle

Stacey Mowle from Gravesend in Kent is just 7 years old and for the past three years this brave little girl has battled with the aggressive 'high risk’ Neuroblastoma cancer which attacks the nervous system and impacts on the entire body.

Having been categorised as being at 'stage 4' termed as the 'final stages' Stacey endured over 18 months of extremely harsh medical treatment which seemed to have paid dividends as in December 2011 she went into much relieved 'remission'.

However, Neuroblastoma has an approximate 80 per cent relapse rate and unfortunately just twelve months later in December last year the Cancer had returned with a predicted vengeance.  At the moment the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, Surrey is trying to stabilise the cancer to prevent it spreading to Stacey's other organs.

Regrettably there is no UK treatment protocol available so it is looking almost certain that Stacey and her parents Warren and Samantha will need to travel to either Germany or North America for special treatment involving replacement stem cells, radiotherapy and various other antibody treatments. This treatment is a lengthy process so the Mowle family including Stacey's brother Jake (9) will need to stay in either Europe or the USA for a number of months and it is estimated the cost for the treatment and living expenses will be around £500,000.

Time is not on Stacey's side to receive the medical treatment she so desperately needs to stay alive and already an extensive local campaign is under way in the Gravesend Kent region involving Sponsored Marathon runs and walks, football tournaments, wristbands, head shaving plus numerous other organised events.

However to raise £500,000 in a relatively short space of time requires intensive action which is why Warren and Samantha have recently linked up with registered Charity Families Against Neuroblastoma (FAN) and various media professionals to take the appeal towards exposure on national TV and Radio. It is hoped that several popular daytime TV Chat shows will take an interest in Stacey's plight and help raise awareness of the appeal.

Any donations would be gratefully received which can be given by texting STAC53 to 70070 (donations from £1 to £10 maximum), on Twitter @staceymAPPEAL -TheStacey Mowle Appeal on Facebook or by donating on www.justgiving/StaceyMowleAppeal

It is also hoped that The Stacey Mowle Appeal will soon be able to announce a further known Celebrity as a Patron. Warren and Samantha have virtually 'put their lives on hold' to support Stacey and are backed by a growing army of family and friends to try and ensure Stacey receives the 'life-saving' treatment she so desperately needs.
