Message from the School Council

Bring and Buy Sale

This year the School Council have decided to hold a Bring and Buy Sale to raise money for charity. We have chosen to raise money for the Stacey Mowle appeal and Cancer Research UK.

We would be extremely grateful if you could bring in any toys, books, ornaments, games etc. that you no longer want, which we could sell at our sale. We will not be collecting clothes.

Please donate all items in plastic bags. We will be collecting them over the next two weeks.

The sales will be held at lunch time on the following days:-

Year R,1 and 2- Monday 8th July
Years 3 and 4- Tuesday 9th July
Years 5 and 6- Wednesday 10th July

Children are welcome to bring up to £3 (in a named, sealed envelope) to spend at the sale.

Thank you

KS2 Sports Activities with Chris Cook

Since this afternoon's events were rained off, Year 5 got to spend some time with Chris Cook learning about role models. They had to think about the qualities of a role model. Some of the ideas they came up with were:- friendship, inspiration, hard work and respect.
We also played a few games where the aim was to stay focused. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

KS2 Sports Day- 20th June

Our KS2 Sports day is to be held on Thursday 20th June at the Bat and Ball Sports Ground and this year we have the pleasure of a previous special guest to our School, Chris Cook (former Olympic champion swimmer) coming along to visit us again for this special day. Parents are welcome to attend from 1.45-3pm.

Please ensure on the day that your child brings with them: trainers, shorts, T-shirt (ideally with their house colour), sun-hat and a full water bottle. Please apply sun cream on your child before they come to school. The afternoon will consist of track running races. Children will sit with staff on one side of the racing tracks, parents on the other. You are welcome to bring your own picnic chair and blankets to sit on.

On Friday 21st June some selected children will have the opportunity to take part in our new Swimming Gala which will take place at Cygnets (where the children have their school swimming sessions). This time giving our ‘swimmers’ the chance to shine, with encouragement from our special visitor: Chris Cook!
We hope you’ll come and support your children at our special 2013 Sports Day with the chance to meet up with Chris Cook too.
